So I have been thinking really hard about what to include this week in what to wear. I have been thinking so hard that I have come up with a most awesome idea. From now on What to Wear with White Bear will be featuring handmade items. If creators and artists don’t stand up for each other no one else will. It is essential that in our current culture that we begin to take care of one another. We need the artists and creators back. We need the compassion, love, and passion back in our world. So I am taking this concept and running with it. If you see a handmade item or maker that you love please share it with me. If you know someone who sells their handmade clothing and accessories let me know that too! Tell them about my blog so we can communicate and share our creations together as the true bohemian movement would love. I myself have contacted a few sellers from Etsy that have beautiful items and will use the rest of my weekend to keep doing the same. As always Let Freedom Live! Be free to be you cause you are the only you around!
Welcome to another edition of What to Wear with White Bear. I sat down at my computer this week and was trying to figure out what exactly I wanted to share with you. I pondered over it, milled over it, (teehee) contemplated it and finally decided that I wanted to feature another handmade designer! This week I have chosen a seamstress, April Holmquist. She sells her clothing in her etsy shop which you can reach by going to her site, Inkaclothingco.com. She has some absolutely fabulous clothing and it is all 100% handmade and one-of-a-kind!
I chose to show you April’s oversized asymmetrical tunic/dress in this gorgeous lime green color. It is made from rayon spandex Jersey knit and rayon baby rib knit. It will fit from XS to Plus size making it absolutely to die for! A must have for all the ladies but there is only one! So make sure you head on over to her Etsy store (click the link back there). April sells this little number for $165.
And since I am in a seriously fun mood I chose lime green Converse All Stars. I have always loved these shoes and I am so happy that they are back in style! I found them at the Converse Store site. They are on sale for $58!
Welcome to the 5th edition of what to wear with White Bear. Can you believe it is Friday already? Where did the week go?! I have come to truly love Fridays but not because they are the end of the week but because I get to go window shopping!!! This is the 5th Friday that we have done a What to Wear with White Bear post together! This week’s outfit is classically fun and found entirely on EBay. Long flowing wide leg pants, an off the shoulder shirt and some very cute platform wedges are on the menu along with two very pretty White Bear pieces. So let’s get started!
These pants look so comfy cozy I wish I had a pair right now! They are handmade here in the USA by Blue Rayne Boutique. Blue Rayne describes them as wide leg tribal harem palazzo gypsy hippie bohemian pants. They are 100% cotton. These harem pants have both lacey designs and mandala patterns making them ultra bold. The soft colors add a feminine touch.
The top this week is sexy and feminine. It is a long sleeved off the shoulder top made out of a cotton blend. The sleeves have a bell shape which makes them flowy. The off the shoulder neckline makes this shirt great for a shoulder necklace (coming soon to White Bear Jewelry), and both long and short necklaces depending on exactly where you would like to accentuate. It comes in three lovely colors: black, white and pink.
As if none of you know I have a thing for shoes, especially sandals. I love the spring and summer and just abhor the thought of having to even wear shoes but alas my poor toes must don soles when I want to go out. This week I am showing you the Women’s Elegant Bohemian Wedge Platform sandal. I chose to show you the black pair but they also come in gray and a very fun orange. Sorry to all the big footed ladies like me out there, these sandals only go up to size 8.
I chose two really great pieces of jewelry to accentuate the outfit this week.
The first of which is the Kara necklace. Made from a Jungle Jasper focal stone, sterling silver filled wire and white suede cord, this necklace is feminine and bold.
The second, Araxie Fresh Water Pearl Bracelet, is fun and elegant. Great for smaller wrists, the wire in this bracelet was made from recycled aluminum. This bracelet reminds me of something a beautiful mermaid would wear.
Besties, never forget to love yourselves. God made you extra special and you are the only one of you on this planet. Treat yourselves well and act with kindness and compassion where ever you go. And always remember that no matter your budget you can always go boho! I hope this week has inspired you a bit and will help you to find yourself a little easier.
Wow! Is it Friday already?! I know I am not the only one that is happy to see the weekend arrive. I have a deep yearning for spring and summer and the sun and blue sky finally came out in my neck of the woods today. The blue sky is my inspiration for this outfit.
Let’s start with the dress. It is by Soul Flower and is tie dyed with blue and pink tones. There are two different colors of this dress. The one I chose is called Ocean, the other is pink. The dress is 95% organic cotton and 5% spandex for a little bit of stretch. It is ethically made in Nepal.
The sandals are absolutely adorable! They are the Boho Fringe Sandal by Bomshell Boutique in the color Mint. They have rubber soles and zipper backs. the fringe and straps are all genuine suede. The fringe is further detailed with metal studs. These sandals are flat making them easy to wear all day.
I chose two really fun White Bear Jewelry pieces. The first is the Lake bracelet in copper. The bracelet is adjustable and made from a very thick gauge copper wire that has been forged in places to increase the strength of the bracelet. It has a great rectangular Magnesite bead that sits on the top of the wrist. It is a beautiful blue color that can easily be compared to a blue sky or the Caribbean Sea.
The second piece I chose are the Aisling Earrings. These earrings are great fun. The puffed circle Magnesite beads have gorgeous crack lines that run through out the stones. They dangle from copper headpins and titanium earwires.
This week is all about spring. It is during the bleakest parts of winter that we need to splash color all over the place! This can also be worn with leggings and a shrug, making it great for this time of the year as well. I pray that spring blesses you early this year. Inspiration comes from every angle so get out there and get inspired.
So who else wonders what you can wear to casual Friday at work while showing off your free style and free spirit? This week we are showing off a handpicked (by me) outfit that does just that! As promised this week features pants, more precisely everyone’s go to casual pants, JEANS! We all know that we can’t wear sweatpants to work unless we are fortunate enough to be physical trainer. HAHA so that is where we will start.
The jeans pictured are Levi’s 315 Shaping Boot cut Jeans. I choose the traditional blue denim color but these cute numbers come in 5 different colors. So you can mix and match as you like. These jeans are so easy to find. You can find them anywhere Levi’s jeans are sold or you can go straight to the source and buy them off of their website for $55.00.
The top comes to us from Modcloth.com. The Back Road Ramble Top is both bohemian and business casual. It is perfect for casual Friday. It has an awesomely fun pattern with bold color choices making it easy to match to any cami. You can find this top for $44.99
The shoes I chose for this outfit are perfect 70’s throwbacks! The Cordani Tulum Platform Sandal is a must have for the spring and summer gypsy girl. It is made of genuine leather and has metallic studs at the welts. The platform is roughly 2 inches in height and the heel is about 4.75 inches. So if you are looking for a bit of a height lift these are perfect. I love these because for a girl of my height (5’9″) I get to put these on and feel like an Amazon! You can get these lovelies on Amazon.com for $103.92 or less.
I paired some pretty cool White Bear pieces with the outfit this week.
Citrine Shimmer Copper Cuff Bracelet is a perfect accent to the yellow found in the Back Road Ramble Top. It blings nicely thanks to the faceted Citrine beads. The copper of the cuff blends nicely with the top and stands out against the dark denim of the jeans.
Spiral Midi Ring Trio is a great accent to the Citrine Shimmer Copper Cuff Bracelet. They make your fingers fun!
I hope you continued to be inspired to be yourself no matter what!
Hi Besties. I was reading through my msn news feed and came across something I just had to share with you. I know the saying is “A diamond is a girl’s best friend” but this diamond can be a best friend to all of us! *giggles* It is 7mm or 2.75 inches in length and is an astounding 404 Carats! It was discovered by Lucapa, an Australian mining company. The diamond was found in one of their mines 300 miles east of the Angolan capital, Luanda. The diamond is valued at $14 Million. Lucapa claims that this is the largest diamond to be found in Angola. Boy would I love to get my wire around this baby HAHA! Check out the link below for a little more information and a glorious picture.
Welcome to another edition of What to Wear with White Bear. I continued this week with the bohemian look. I have a thing for the freedom loving style. Of course skirts are not the only thing in boho style but the maxi skirt is surely one of my favorite summer time go to items. Plus its always fun to spin in a field of flowers! So this week I am bringing you a top, skirt, and boot that have been matched with two of my newest items. So here we go!
The maxi skirt is by Yoga Trends. It comes in 5 different color combinations. I chose the plum colored skirt because purple happens to be one of my favorite colors! It has a very pretty abstract pattern that features a bright teal color. I found this skirt on Amazon.com.
The top is a racerback tank top with lace around the neckline. It is by MBE and comes in 10 colors. I chose the black top but there are two teal colors that would also be great with the skirt. It would also be killer with a pair of jeans or shorts. I found this tank top on amazon.com as well.
The boots I chose are to die for! Great high heel that goes with skirts and pants. I chose the black pair however, there are 7 other colors available. They have a simple buckle at the ankle bone. They lace up the back, which is a very sexy look. (shhhh but I so want these boots LOL)
The Thistle is the newest piece in the White Bear Boho Heaven line. It is a lariat necklace which gives it versatility. The pink and purple beads pop out against the black top and look great paired with the skirt. Its handmade chain and tassel go great with the bohemian aesthetic.
The Fiji wrap bracelet is also one of the newest editions to the Boho Heaven line. It has four wraps that will fit any size wrist. It contains peace jade, dyed coral, dyed mother-of-pear, wooden, jasper and glass beads. It has a spiral charm that dangles for the second wrap. The colors in the bracelet pop out against the skirt and top. The wrap bracelet is a huge trend right now.
As always click on the links to see more information on each of the items. The links for the outfit will take you directly to the amazon listing and the links to the Jewelry will take you directly to the piece on this website. I hope that we have inspired your creativity and your unique fashion sense again this week. As always please leave me comments below. I would love to hear from you!
Serpentine gets its name from the Greek word “serpens”, which means snake, because of the appearance of the stone resembles snake skin. It is not just one stone but a group of minerals. It belongs to the metamorphic rock type and is an important mineral in the rock forming process. The mineral is made up of a basic silicate of magnesium, iron, aluminum, zinc, nickel, and manganese along with hydroxyl and in some rare cases water. It comes in various colors including: green, yellow, white, gray, brown, black, purple and sometimes it is multicolored. The multicolored varieties are most often found to be green, yellow and white. It’s semitransparent to opaque. Serpentine’s hardness on the Mohs scale ranges from between 2.5 to 6. Its luster ranges from greasy to waxy to silky. It can be found in Australia, Britain, Russia, Norway, Italy, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Brazil and the USA. The Aztec culture highly prized the stone and there is a rare form found in Arizona, known as Arizona Lizard Stone. The stone is also called New Jade in some circles. The mineral was highly prized by the Aztec civilizations. It is often used in jewelry and architecture. In ancient times it was used as an offering to the gods when asking for blessings.
Serpentine is often used when communicating with the Devic Realm or the realm of the elementals. This is because it resonates with earth energy. The mineral encourages contact with the elementals and may even help to contact the angelic realm for guidance. This stone is most powerful when stimulating the crown chakra but is extremely useful in unblocking all of the chakras’ and clearing stagnant energy. It is one of the safest stones to use when activating the kundalini energies. It helps to raise the Kundalini up the spine. This process can be dangerous and can also arouse sexual feelings.
Serpentine is believed to protect against diseases, snake bites, and the bites of venomous creatures. It assists in the healing of the heart and lungs and in cellular regeneration. It is also believed to help ease pain associated with the kidneys, stomach cramps, and tension.

This week I found some beautiful boho items that would spice up your spring and summer wardrobe.
The skirt is a fun maxi skirt made by Bankokpants. I found this skirt on Amazon. It has gorgeous colors and features a mandala and lace pattern.
The shirt, by Anna Kaci, is an off the shoulder boho style smocked waist top. I also found this on amazon. It comes in three colors. The black is a perfect accent to the maxi shirt helping its brilliant colors pop!
Where can I start with those absolutely adorable sandals by Not Rated? The fringe…the black chain accents…These shoes are just a must have. They go perfectly into a boho wardrobe and accent the skirt perfectly! Again I found these must haves on Amazon.com.
Amethyst is the purple member of the quartz family. Its color can range from a light lilac to a deep royal purple. It can also range from a more brownish purple to a very vivid purple. Amethyst also has color zoning, a phenomenon in this case that makes the color go from dark to light. Amethyst can be found in clusters or in single crystals in nature. It is often cut or tumbled to be used in jewelry.
Fine amethyst stones have been used in religious and royal jewelry since ancient times. The gem as described by Moses has been used as a symbol of God in the official robes of the High Priest of the Jews. Empress Catherine the Great of Russia sent thousands of miners into the Ural Mountains in search of the stone. Amethyst has been worn on the fingers of bishops and is used in the coronation regalia for British royalty. The ancient Greeks associated the stone with Bacchus, the god of wine, because of its wine like color. The gem’s name comes from the Greek word, Amethystos, meaning not intoxicated. The ancient Greeks believed that wearing Amethyst would prevent you from becoming drunk and help you to keep a clear head during festival season, which is in February. The ancients also used the gem as the birthstone for Capricorn, Aquarius and Aries. In modern times the gem is the birthstone of February. It is used to celebrate the 6th and 17th wedding anniversaries.
Amethyst is known as one of the power stones. It has been used for many years to open the psychic and spiritual centers. The stone is associated with the Zodiac sign Pisces. Its planet is Saturn. It is also coupled with the Crown chakra. The stone has been used as a power, protection, and wisdom stone through the centuries. The Egyptians used the gem to protect against guilty and fearful feelings. It has also been used to protect against self-deception and witchcraft. It is also a great stone to use during meditation when worn as a necklace. It also symbolized piety, sincerity, and spiritual wisdom. It is also known as the Bishop’s stone and is still worn by Catholic Bishops.
Amethyst is a stone that focuses a healer’s energy when worn by the healer and placed on the heart and lungs of the person to be healed. It is known to help with maladies of the heart and with breathing and lung issues. Crystal clusters help to purify the air and keep the life force of a home positive. Placing crystal clusters, single crystals or several tumbled stones in a window that receives sun for the majority of the day will help to healing the body and to heal negative energy in the home. Placing them in the moonlight helps to increase the feeling of calmness in your home. Rubbing the stone on your forehead will help to cure a headache. The gem also helps to increase positive spiritual feelings, reduce fear and anxiety and curb cravings.
